We are officially giving advice that people who do not have a diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum should NOT seek a diagnosis.
There are far too high risks in getting a diagnosis, and living your life with a diagnosis.
The only time an adult should seek a diagnosis is if it is vital to getting medical care, welfare, employment benefit or to end homelessness.
The current situation puts autistics at a much higher risk of having children taken away, having human rights taken away, being forcibly given medication, and of being forced into a mental hospital.
When the prenatal test is ready it adds further risk, especially to autistics who choose to have children.
This is not a warning that we give lightly, but after meeting many people and experiencing great prejudice ourselves.
